Granny

I took this picture of my 101 year old Granny while staying with her in Southern California, as I completed an intensive EMT course. My schedule for class was 4-10pm M-F and so my routine would be get up, shower, eat breakfast with granny (some toast, some eggs, some coffee- but actually it turned out I really liked the simplicity of this menu as well as time to just talk with granny). Next id wash up, check emails and then hit the books in the back room (my dad and uncles old bedroom). Granny would come in on occasion to see how I was doing and if I needed anything. On one such occasion I saw that the light caught her just perfectly so grabbed a quick shot, before she went back to her colossal pile of mail and I went back to my studies.

I missed the focus ever so slightly but I think over all the image works as a stand alone portrait.

Portrait taken with a Hasselblad 500cm, 80mm f/2.8, and Kodak Tmax 400 film.
