Life on the farm, Dec 2013

We have been having some incredibly cold days of late. Pipes freeze, frost on the windscreen, frozen puddles that don’t thaw, that kind of cold. Nothing compared to Canadan who reports days of -32C in Canada but this is California… so… Despite the cold there’s been a great deal of life all the same, with a new calf and a new family of pigs recently born. Couldn’t get any pictures of the piglets as they were all tucked away in a pile with their parents, fast asleep, in their shed. Feeling like crap the last couple days so after taking half the day off and then sleeping for most of the other half I finally needed some fresh air and so took a walk around the property as the sun sunk towards the horizon and the temperatures started dropping.
