Luang Prabang, Laos. Feb 2011.
Flash from the past- started thinking about all the pictures i took on my trip with the digital camera. They weren’t getting as much love as the ones i took with the film camera so i decided to change it up a little. Below are some shots from a wee river town situated in Northern Laos on the Meekong. Spent a few days here just unwinding and taking in the area. Rented a bike a one point and hit the road for a few days to explore further north. Luang Prabang, although a little touristy is a real charmer. Very relaxed vibe and cool night markets. Lots of good street food and a range of accommodations from the usual budget traveler stuff right up to 5 star hotels (well maybe not 5 star). This could be an amazing place to base out of for exploration in any direction really. Get a cheap motor bike or scooter and theres days of travel and sights to see. Amazing how making a right down one of those dirt roads takes you into a whole other world void of the impacts of tourism.
